About

Dr. Sohad Murrar is an Assistant Professor of Psychology at the University of Illinois Chicago where she is the director of the Social Interventions and Intergroup Relations Lab. Sohad studies how basic psychological processes related to social attitudes and perceptions can be used in attitude and behavior change interventions to reduce prejudice, promote inclusivity, and improve intergroup relations. Her intervention work centers on entertainment media narratives and social norms messaging in domains like higher education and academic medicine.
