CASEL, in which Roger P. Weissberg serves as Chief Knowledge Officer, will work cooperatively with eight states to create and implement plans to draft statewide social-emotional learning standards and policies.

The Education Week blog, “Rules for Engagement,” quotes Roger Weissberg, UIC distinguished professor of psychology and education and NoVo Foundation Endowed Chair in Social and Emotional Learning, on plans for eight states to work collaboratively on establishing social and emotional learning standards and policies in their schools. The effort will be assisted by the Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning, an independent 501(c)(3) non-profit organization where Weissberg is chief knowledge officer.
