Clinical-track Assistant Professor Position Available
Clinical Assistant Professor in Psychology
The Department of Psychology at the University of Illinois at Chicago is seeking a Clinical Assistant Professor who will teach courses for the Department and provide therapy and assessment supervision to students through the Office of Applied Psychological Services (OAPS), effective December, 2017. OAPS is the training clinic for the Department’s APA-accredited Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology and provides services to adults and children in Chicago and the surrounding suburbs. The Clinical Psychology Program endorses a scientist-practitioner training model, has been accredited by APA since 1974, and is a member of the Academy of Psychological Sciences.
The position is a non-tenure track 12-month appointment. Duties involve training graduate students in the evidence-based practice of clinical psychology, providing both practicum instruction and clinical supervision of therapy and assessment cases, and teaching undergraduate courses. As a staff member of OAPS, the Clinical-track Professor will also participate in administrative oversight and leadership of the clinic, including coverage of clinic hours, consultation on emergencies, participating in clinic-related meetings, developing and implementing policy, and maintaining adherence to APA accreditation standards.
Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from an APA-accredited program and be licensed or license-eligible as a Clinical Psychologist in the State of Illinois. Applicants must also have a demonstrated appreciation of psychology as a science and an ability to incorporate a scientific focus and research perspective into clinical practice and any courses taught. Preference will be given to candidates with experience teaching and supervising clinical work at the university level and those with experience training students on the administration of neuropsychological assessments.
