Professional Development Seminar in the Department of Psychology

This seminar is designed for faculty and students to learn more about how to write strong and effective letters of recommendation.
Our very own Pauline Maki, Kate Zinsser, and Erin Berenz will serve as panelists for this discussion!
Topics will include:
—elements of a strong letter
—how to promote your/your students accomplishments and strengths
—how to use effective language when writing letters of recommendation for women
—how to be sensitive to racial/ethnic issues and minority status
—how to discuss letters of recommendations with your students or advisors
In addition, examples of both strong and weak letters of recommendation will be provided.
